caught the long-awaited "the pillowman" w karen today.
and i love the charismatic adrian pang!
dark, disturbing, and depressing
frame the theme of apathy.
the dialogues are deep,
set has depth, and ladened w ironies,
dark humor and tragedy.
eg a police office is transformed to a prison setting
in the next scene.

specifically,i like how realistically
 the actor portrayed the character
of the retarded bro .
his actions, echolalia, resembles tht of a
mentally handicapped child.
he is so innocent , yet morbid at the same time.
what paradoxes.

however, i dont quite like the incessant swearing and smoking on set.
why do actors like to smoke so much on stage?
it portrays the down mood quite abit,
but its v over-used,
it seems to portray smoking
as an illness instead of an addiction.
